Until recently, the thought of solo travel conjured up images of singles cruises and packaged tours for the retirement set. Fortunately, that’s all beginning to change as more people opt to hit the road alone. Singles now account for 27 percent of all travelers and in recent years, roughly eleven percent of leisure travelers have vacationed alone. Those numbers are on the
rise and travel companies, spas and resorts are all rushing to
meet the demand by creating “solo-cation” packages and itineraries that cater to the unaccompanied traveler.
