This month's Editor's Corner is On Creativity and Inspiration. We all have our own ideas about what we find creative. Much like beauty, what each of us finds to be creative is in the eye of the beholder. Each of us also has our own ways in which we seek our personal inspiration. In Steve Smith's most recent entry for his column, Adventures in Pixelland Steve writes about some of his pet peeves concerning Common Photo Website Design Oversights. Everyone who has a personal web site to show their work should take heed since many designers, photo editors and art buyers share many of Steve's criticisms.

In today's brave new internet world where most photographers and stock agencies have web sites, photo editors and researchers do most of their shopping for photos online. In their KEENTIPS column this month, Cotton Coulson and Sisse Brimberg (KEENPRESS) give us their take on chaos theory as it applies to Marketing the Modern Way.

Our Latest Interview

In our latest interview, I spoke with Danita Delimont- CEO, Danita Delimont Stock Photography on a wide range of subjects and issues. Danita is one of the most widely respected members of the stock industry community. As the National President of the American Society of Picture Professionals (ASPP), from 2000-2001 she was propelled into the forefront of the photo industry and her expertise was sought by many including numerous photographers. Danita has also worked with the North American Nature Photographer's Association (NANPA) and is a member of the Picture Archive Council of America (PACA). With all of this experience Danita brings a wealth of knowledge to the photo industry.

We have also continued with the SAA White Paper: Straight Talk About Stock Licensing Models series in our Bits & Pieces section. This article should help everyone understand more about how the various stock licensing models work for the creators, users and distributors of images.

Orphan Works Copyright Legislation

There have been a number of updates on the pending Orphan Works Copyright Legislation since the last newsletter. A number of organizations have gotten involved to try to insure that significant modifications to this legislation are made before it becomes law.
