StockPhotographer.info - Newsletter June 2006 Welcome to the June 2006 edition of the StockPhotographer.info Newsletter and welcome to our newest contributor at StockPhotographer.info Gary Crabbe, a professional outdoor, location and travel photographer and writer based in Northern California. Gary will be writing the column, View from the Middle. In Gary's first article, How many for how much, he give his take on “crowdsourcing”, RF and microstocks. Most Recent ArticlesCalifornia Raining, John Hindmarsh's first article for StockPhotographer.info which appeared last month dealt with how weather can often effect the types of images we make. This month, John is again plagued by wet weather, this time in Paris. We might want to keep up with John's travel schedule so we know where not to go if we are looking for bright sun and blue skies. However, in Paris Was Wet, Too! John gives us some insight into how he deals with the problem of model releases in his travel photographs. John also has provided a number of excellent reasons why photographers should be taking advantage of continuing education opportunities like workshops in his newest article And Don’t Ask About Portugal. If John is telling us about workshops, then why not ask about Portugal? Well, true to form for John's recent experiences, it rained. Richard Weisgrau concludes his Successful Stock Strategies series in his All About Business column with parts 10, 11 and 12. In Part 10, Richard explains his strategy for self-marketing Rights Protected images. In Part 11, Richard tells us about planning for his future in stock photography and what has prompted some of his decisions. Finally in Part 12, Richard explains why he pulled all of his rights managed stock out of circulation, and why he is placing it with a new agency, who that agency is, and why he selected it. Richard Weisgrau also has a new book that is due out in August. Published by Allworth Press. Publishing Photography: Marketing Images, Making Money provides the tools and knowledge photographers need to find and exploit the various opportunities in each market segment of the publishing industry to get their images published.
