Welcome to the July 2006 edition of the StockPhotographer.info Newsletter. We're approaching the middle of the summer season and all around the industry things seem to be a bit slow. However, we do have posted several new articles as well as news from around the industry.

Richard Weisgrau begins a new series in his All About Business column with the first three parts of Self-marketing Rights-protected Photographs. In this series, Richard discusses how he goes about licensing his rights-protected stock images.

Richard Weisgrau also has a new book that is due out in August. Published by Allworth Press. New copyright office fees went into effect July 1, 2006, iView was acquired by Microsoft Corporation and Adobe Systems Incorporated announced that it has acquired the technology assets of Pixmantec ApS, makers of digital imaging software which includes the RawShooter(R) line of digital photography software products. Also, The Stock Artists Alliance has developed a Metadata Manifesto, a proposal for the adoption of guiding principles, standards and technology to promote image metadata use.
