Richard Weisgrau , author of the column "All About Business ".
Professional photography has been part of my life for nearly forty years. Since beginning my career in 1966 I have been a freelance magazine photographer, commercial portrait studio owner, audio-visual producer, and photography association executive.
In 1988 I was appointed to be ASMP's executive director, a post I held through 2002. During that period photography transitioned from film to digital, and the industry was a hotbed of issues critical to photographers. ASMP represented photographers' interests, and I led that effort.
Now I am engaged in photography, writing books and articles about the photography business, consulting on photography business matters, and serving as an expert witness in legal cases that call for my expertise in the photography business.

Steve Smith, author of the column "Adventures in Pixelland".
Steve Smith owns and operates World of Stock , which is headquartered near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. World of Stock is one of the new generation start-up agencies and prides itself on both its customer support and way in which they treat their international contingent of photographers. Steve even goes so far as to personally answer questions from any of his current or potential contributors.

Steve spent many years as a still photography enthusiast but made the switch to video around 1992. He then ran a small video studio up until late 2000. When a career opportunity took him to Hong Kong for two years, Steve spent much of his time travelling around Asia armed with a new camera. The lure of digital brought Steve back to photography as his main interest.

Steve has a background in the high tech industry and a love of graphic arts, which culminated in his founding of World of Stock. Steve also writes and is a regular contributor to Digital Photographer and other magazines.

John Hindmarsh, author of the column "Traveler's Tales".
While I have been photographing for more years than I would want to recount – OK, OK, more than 35 years – photography took on a brand new guise when I realized the advantages of digital images. My Bronica SQA and my Nikon SLR both now languish on the shelf while my Nikon D100 and D2X follow me around the world, usually in a large backpack, accompanied by a variety of lenses and filters. Yes, I am that person you see on the aircraft, struggling to fit his almost over-sized Lowepro into the overhead locker, while his lady friend looks on, with very little sympathy.

I travel, photograph and write, sometimes in that order. Over the last year or so I have visited Australia, California [well, it is a separate country], South Africa, Denmark, Scotland, England, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, The Netherlands, Belgium and France. In the coming months I will be visiting France [both Provence and Paris, hopefully when the riots are over], Belgium, Spain, Italy, Australia, England, Scotland, California, and possibly Singapore and Hong Kong. And as a result I will regale you with the woes of travel photography, and of the difficulties of finding stock and other outlets for travel-related images. I may even include details of a novel that I am currently writing.

And yes, I am in the process of setting up my web site – details to come.
