Exactly one month ago yesterday, we formally announced the launch of StockPhotographer.info. What had begun as a wispy dream was suddenly thrust into hard reality.

We have come so far in such a short period of time. We began discussing this project on December 6, 2005 and then started the actual physical work to develop the site on December 14. After working many sixteen to twenty-hour days, we then officially launched on January 17.

Apparently we are doing something right. We have had quite a number of very positive comments from many in the stock photography industry and number of those have come from some real industry heavyweights. 

In one short month our Alexa traffic ranking shot up to 46,125, far ahead of all other industry news and information web sites. Alexa does have some bias issues, never the less it does represent quite an increase in traffic in a very short period of time. However, just one month after our official launch we have become the No. 1 news portal in the stock photo industry in terms of unique visitors per day and more importantly, in the number of page views per visitor.

We still have much to do and far to go. In the months ahead you will find new articles by our columnists, more interviews with stock industry leaders and innovators and of course more news on topics that effect the stock industry. We also have more columnists on the way covering a diverse range of subjects that should be of interest to everyone involved in the stock industry.

In the coming weeks and months you will also see new content and new features beginning to appear. We have quite a number of items either planned or already under development such as FREE stock-portfolio searchable galleries that can include an UNLIMITED number of images for all of the photographers included in our Find a Photographer database. Be sure to visit StockPhotographer.info often and watch for the announcements as we bring these new features online.
