5th September 2006-
Christina Vaughan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Image Source
Limited and Colin Finlay, Director of Sales and Strategic Development
at Photoshot Holdings Limited are to lead a seminar on international
marketing for photo libraries at the upcoming BAPLA AGM, being held at
Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London on October 10th.
According to a recent BAPLA survey 77% of members said exporting would
be a major priority in the next five years. This seminar, entitled
“International Marketing and Tips on Going Global”, will discuss the
stages involved in sourcing and building international relationships,
working with international agreements – and getting it right.
Christina and Colin are well placed to lead such a seminar. With more
than 17 years of experience in the creation, distribution and marketing
of commercial imagery, Christina is one of the most experienced figures
in the industry and a leading advocate of international marketing and
distribution. After founding Image Source in 1999, Vaughan established
distribution links with over 250 partners across the world as well as
setting up Image Source offices in Cologne and New York. The company
won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade
Category in 2005 for its international sales and exports.
Colin also has wide-ranging experience of international marketing and
overseas networks. During his time at Getty Images, he was responsible
for establishing an extensive global network and sales support system
for archival collections. Since becoming a partner at Photoshot
Holdings, revenue generated from outside the UK has increased from less
than 10% to almost 50% of total revenue. Photoshot currently works with
116 partners ranging from national news providers to specialist
boutique agencies.
“International distribution is increasingly appearing on the
development plans and future strategies for photo libraries”,
acknowledges Christina. “However, there are many potential pitfalls
towards getting it right. Understanding these and preparing for them
will be of great benefit to anyone considering going global”.
‘International Marketing and Tips on Going Global’ will be at 2pm on
Tuesday October 10th in the Cable and Wireless room, Sadler’s Wells
Theatre, London.
