Platform for Professional Photographers Provides Members Access to One Click Uploader Utility
MONTEREY, CA - 6SIGHT - October 25, 2006
- Digital Railroad, Inc., a leading provider of Web-based application
services for the professional photography industry, announced support
for iView MediaPro from iView Multimedia Ltd., a wholly owned
subsidiary of Microsoft Corp., providing its members new tools and
streamlined workflows. The first result of this support is a powerful
upload utility that enables Digital Railroad members a one-click
solution for transferring image files from an iView MediaPro catalog
directly into their Digital Railroad archives. iView MediaPro enables digital photographers to quickly and easily
import, sort, organize, edit, publish, annotate and archive large
volumes and many different types of digital files. Digital Railroad
support for iView MediaPro allows members to streamline and automate
their editing processes. MediaPro allows users to repurpose IPTC
metadata from a MediaPro catalog to Digital Railroad member archives,
eliminating repetitive production steps like entering metadata twice.
MediaPro can also quickly and easily convert a variety of image file
formats, such as RAW, into the JPEG and TIFF formats for uploading to
Digital Railroad.
"At Digital Railroad, we're always focused on providing more tools
to streamline our members' workflow processes," said Evan Nisselson,
Digital Railroad CEO/Founder and a professional photographer. "We are
excited to work with iView, which will allow our members to minimize
redundant steps, increase productivity and shorten time to market their
images.”
"As a
Digital Railroad member and an iView MediaPro user, I am looking
forward to using this new service," said Ed Kashi, photojournalist and
co-author of Aging in America: The Years Ahead. "As a
photojournalist, more seamless connection of both products will help
enormously in my digital workflow, giving me more time for reporting
and making pictures."
"The
iView MediaPro team is dedicated to helping professional photographers
maximize their digital assets, from cataloguing to publishing," said
Yan Calotychos, founder of iView Multimedia. "The launch of the free
Digital Railroad uploader means MediaPro customers can now
automatically upload their stock from a MediaPro catalog directly to
Digital Railroad member archives, speeding delivery time for their
images to the world's leading photo agencies and publications."
The upload utility will be available November 1, 2006 and can be accessed at http://www.digitalrailroad.net/corpsite/iview.html
