iStockPhoto has just announced that starting in January 2007 Getty Images will offer contracts to all iStockPhoto Exclusive Diamond photographers and illustrators. The announcement posted on the iStockPhoto web site states, "With this new pilot program, our Exclusive Diamond photographers and illustrators can choose to submit images for Royalty-Free distribution at Getty Images (as part of the Photodisc collection), while still remaining Exclusive here at iStock. It's the best of both worlds."
During the initial pilot phase of the program, Exclusive Diamond photographers and illustrators may upload up to 5 images per month to Getty through iStock. Once the pilot phase is over, Gold Exclusives will be offered the contract as well. Then once everything is running smoothly, which is expected to be in the summer of 2007, video and the option to sell Rights Managed images through Getty will be offered as well.
This opportunity being offered through iStockPhoto is separate from the Lifesize program that Getty just announced. Instead, the program is simply offering a contract to those Exclusive contributors with no fees to join or submit. The entire announcement from iStockPhoto can be read here. |
