On November 2, 2006, BitShelter LLC®, the creator of PhotoShelter®, announced an exclusive licensing agreement with Cradoc Corporation the developer of fotoQuote® which has long been the industry standard price guide for Rights Managed stock and assignment photography. In making the announcement, PhotoShelter indicated that the new service would be available with fotoQuote pricing starting January 2007.

The new feature is now available and live at PhotoShelter, giving subscribers immediate access to fotoQuote's pricing information through photographer customizable pricing profiles. The integration of fotoQuote pricing within PhotoShelter enables photographers to eliminate delays in negotiation and  truly realize the benefits of an online marketplace within PhotoShelter's e-commerce function for licensing Rights Managed images.

fotoQuote data has been used to populate a matrix of average pricing data. However, each photographer is able to set up multiple pricing profiles and adjust the value of those profiles as a percentage of the matrix price. The customization also allows each individual to set regional and country-based pricing variations. Photo buyers are then be able to use a series of select menus like those typically found on photo agency sites, to generate a price. A buyer then has the option to either purchase a license for the image immediately using a credit card or negotiate the price with the photographer.

Once a photographer has created an account at PhotoShelter and logged in, there is an excellent series of Quicktime training videos available detailing how to use these new features. The short videos titled, "Creating a Right-Managed Profile with fotoQuote", "Pricing and Negotiating an RM Sale" and "Creating an Instant Sale" make understanding and using the new features extremely easy.
