SchemaLogic to Provide Digital Media Leader with Consistent Tagging across Content Library

KIRKLAND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SchemaLogic today announced that Corbis, a world leader in digital media, will use SchemaLogic’s Enterprise Suite to manage the semantics used to describe the company’s growing digital images, illustration and video assets. SchemaLogic’s technology will integrate with Corbis’ own industry leading Media Management solution, and its selected auto categorization and search applications, helping Corbis’ customers to quickly find the exact image, video or illustrations to match their needs.

Corbis provides the richest array of digital image licensing including millions of images, illustrations and motion pictures, enabling creative innovation for advertising, corporate marketing and editorial clients. With content coming from a variety of different sources, Corbis needs a system that can facilitate consistent semantics, or tags, for the entire content library. SchemaLogic was chosen for its market leading technology and understanding of business semantics management issues that impact organizations in the digital media industry.

“With the growing volume of imagery, illustrations and motion footage available to the creators of print, online and broadcast advertising and media, it is important that we have a single model in place for managing, categorizing and searching our digital media assets,” said Stephen Gillett, vice president, information technology at Corbis. “We expect SchemaLogic to help us to improve how easily our customers find the content they want while helping us to more efficiently manage our current collections and integrate new content in the future.”

“The ability to leverage digital content is a challenge for many media companies, and we are pleased that Corbis has selected our technology to strengthen the integration of its semantic knowledge across the enterprise,” said Jeff Dirks, president and chief executive officer of SchemaLogic. “SchemaLogic offers a unique opportunity for Corbis to bring together internal experts, external contributors and partners to create a truly uniform vocabulary and terminology to tag digital content that will benefit their organizations, customers and the entire industry.”
