Hispanic Stock Photo Collection Archived at Smithsonian

Houston, TX (March 26, 2007) – Pozo Digital (www.pozodigital.com), the source for authentic Hispanic stock images, today announces the launch of its Vintage Collection. The photographs are by renowned 1940’s photographer Katherine Joseph, which were recently archived in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

The 1941 collection of black and white pictures were taken in Mexico and include film stars, political figures and historical events. Pozo Digital is one of the first Hispanic stock photo houses with a vintage collection of photographs available for print and other commercial uses.

Katherine Joseph served as a staff photographer for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She traveled extensively through Mexico capturing the essence of the Hispanic culture during the 1940’s. Ms. Joseph’s work has been published prolifically in newspapers and magazines in the United States and Mexico. Her original photographs and negatives have recently been accepted and archived at The Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

“Ms. Joseph’s works establish a firm foundation for the vintage collection,” said Guadalupe Marmolejo, Founder and CEO of Pozo Digital. “It’s an honor for me to include these remarkable photographs as part of our collection. Pozo Digital’s mission is to provide users with a fresh resource for stock images and this includes a vintage branch. This is just the beginning of what I hope will be a new dimension in Hispanic stock images.”
