(BRENTWOOD, Tennessee) September 10, 2007--Dreamstime.com, a global community agency and distinguished leader in the industry, has announced its newest and most exciting feature—a contest and learning opportunity for its photographers—the chance to participate in a photography workshop “Shoot With Ron Chapple.” [http://www.dreamstime.com/workshops]

In this exclusive offer [available only through Dreamstime], the game-winning photographer will earn the right to join veteran stock photographer Ron Chapple, who is recognized as one of the best of the best in the industry, in an extensive and intensive three-day workshop and stock shoot.

As the top Dreamstime.com contributor, Ron Chapple has been shooting stock images for more than 20 years. Frequently referred to as one of the "world's most prolific stock shooters," Chapple launched his career shooting rights-managed photos in 1984.  In 2000, Chapple founded the innovative Thinkstock royalty-free image collection. He travels across the world covering over 100,000 miles a year to create fresh perspectives on the classic stock themes.  Meanwhile, his studio team is comprised of talented digital artists, photographers and editors based in Charlotte, NC.  [Visit http://www.dreamstime.com/Iofoto_info/ or  http://www.ronchapple.com to view his work.]

"Shooting stock is a lifestyle. I'm looking forward to working with the Dreamstime contest winner to not only share my love of shooting, but many of the practical details that make for a successful shoot." Chapple said.

While most Dreamstime.com contests are open to any and all contributors, this exclusive contest is being dedicated to those photographers who have demonstrated longevity and success as active and interactive Dreamstime.com contributors and who have already achieved semi-professional or professional status.

Eligible photographers will be selected based upon the photographer’s history of successful assignment participation and submissions, correlated with total sales within their portfolio. Winners will be selected based on the last three Assignment* submissions before November 20, 2007. [http://www.dreamstime.com/assignment-photos_pg1]  In a most unconventional concept to contests in general, Dreamstime.com will publish the list of eligible and potential winners on a regular basis throughout the contest period to motivate and excite photographers to aggressively participate and make the competition more challenging.

The winner of the “hands-on” workshop will travel to Chapple’s headquarters located in Maui, Hawaii**. The focus of the workshop will be to learn the tricks of the trade. Chapple will share his expertise in the field offering his knowledge in traditional stock photography as well as extend his creative direction as to what sells and how to select work that sells. The workshop will cover lighting secrets, shooting techniques in various challenging situations (still life and night shooting) and how to work effectively with models.

“Many aspiring photographers are seeking ‘hands-on’ knowledge to improve their images. Working with an experienced pro shooter such as Ron Chapple will afford the aspiring photographer firsthand insight into the details that create a successful stock photo production. While books and DVDs offer a wealth of knowledge, working side-by-side with a professional stock shooter brings that knowledge to life,” said Serban Enache, CEO and co-creator of Dreamstime.com.    “This is not a holiday for the faint hearted. The winner should plan and be ready to work and learn…to wake early and stay up late to get the best light!  …and enjoy the experience,” added Chapple.

Dreamstime.com will pick up the tab for transportation, accommodations and meals for the winner to participate in the three-day event.  [See additional details by visiting http://www.dreamstime.com/workshops]

“The three-day stock shoot will enable the winner to boost his or her skills as a stock photographer while creating stunning quintessential photos,” Enache added.  “It will prove to be the best photographic time of their life and we are pleased to be able to give something back to the photographers who have worked so hard to make Dreamstime.com what it is today!”

The Dreamstime.com Workshop Program is one of the many inviting contents created to encourage and enhance community participation. Dreamstime hosts a number of monthly assignments and contests including:

The Assignment* is a motivating initiative to become an involved member (a member of the  “Dream Team”).  The agency posts a monthly Assignment; a contest in which a current photo assignment is issued to members on the web page.  The winner of the Assignment receives a prize.  Previous awards have included iPods, camera backpacks, tripods, photo lenses and more.  [http://www.dreamstime.com/assignments.php]

The Milestone
Succeeding any other microstock agency, Dreamstime.com increased its gallery of photos by 500,000 images in just four short months earlier this spring.  The three-year young company reached its goal of 1 Million images in February (2007) and in consideration of the growth pattern and percentages, the forecast indicates Dreamstime will have a library of more than 2 Million by the end the year.  To assist in meeting the mark, Dreamstime.com awards a photographer for every Milestone contribution.  At every 100,000th interval, the contributor who submits a photo or image at the next 100,000 mark receives a prize.  [http://www.dreamstime.com/inthenews-archive]

In The News is a section specifically designed to initiate interest and participation by skilled and talented photographers. Dreamstime.com seeks out the amateur and semi-pro photographers who wish to elevate their exposure as a photojournalist—to introduce their photo stories in In The News.  This exclusive section features photos that “tell a story” or are of news relevancy or interest (surrounding an event; community, national or worldwide; past or present). A five-dollar ($5.00) commission is awarded for each accepted submission. …and who knows…the photos In The News may be featured in the news (in print or television)!   [http://www.dreamstime.com/contest.php]

Dreamstime.com currently has more than 350,000 customers all over the world.  With over 1,700,000 images available, the Dreamstime gallery of photos and images is acknowledged as the best-edited collection in its market. To meet the overwhelming demand for stock photography and images, the three-year old community agency features a gallery of high quality photography, graphics, artwork, scenic backgrounds and more.
