New Service Gives Instant Legal Clearance on Music for Broadcast and Advertising Projects

SEATTLE, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Getty Images, Inc. (NYSE: GYI), the world's leading creator and distributor of visual content, today announced the launch of Soundtrack, a new music licensing service, available at http://www.gettyimages.com/music. Soundtrack, developed by recently acquired Pump Audio, the leader in music licensing, gives customers direct access to more than 20,000 original tracks by some of the world's best independent artists and bands for use in broadcast and film production, advertising and other media projects.

"Getty Images is now the unprecedented destination for digital content," said Jonathan Klein, CEO and co-founder of Getty Images. "Our customers represent a variety of industries and they want quick and easy access to digital media -- imagery, footage and music -- that can be used in a myriad of ways. When we acquired Pump Audio in June, we made a commitment to develop dynamic and nimble new music platforms and tools which meet the growing content needs of our customers. The launch of Soundtrack is just the beginning of that strategy."

Whether the project is for a top-tier advertising agency, or a blogger wanting to add sound to a Web-based slide show, Soundtrack enables creative and editorial professionals to create elegant and sophisticated projects with assets collected from a single, unique source.

"As leaders in music programming, we're always looking for the best original music to accompany our programs," said Mika Salmi, president of global digital media at MTV Networks. "Pump Audio has provided us with fresh sounds that always hit the mark for whatever our music needs, just as Getty Images has provided creative photography and footage. Now we can take advantage of an integrated digital media solution."

"Our Soundtrack tool was designed to make the process of discovering and licensing great music as easy and enjoyable as possible," said Pump Audio CEO, Steve Ellis. "For creative and editorial professionals at every level, it's all about finding the right song for their work. Our customers, such as MTV, BBC, Discovery and New Line Cinemas, expect great music and now they can get it without any of the headaches."

Pump Audio artists are being appropriately recognized and compensated for their work and Getty Images will be constantly expanding its music platform to create new revenue and promotional opportunities for every tier of music owner. In addition to its independent music catalog, Getty Images will soon be expanding its music offering to include a wide range of branded music partners including major labels and publishers.
