NordicPhotos has acquired the Norwegian picture agency GV-Press. GV-Press will continue operating as before but the buy will be a stepping stone for NordicPhotos to the market in Norway. GV-Press was founded in 1988 by Gerd Verdu and is currently one of the largest picture agencies in Norway, representing over 50 collections in the Norwegian market and providing most of the magazine publishers with photo material.

GV-Press is the fifth picture agency bought by NordicPhotos, and the first one in Norway. Previously, NordicPhotos has bought four Swedish agencies; Mira Bildarkiv and IMS Bildbyrå in 2003, Tiofoto in 2005 and Greatshots in 2006. NordicPhotos’ aim is to be a leading photo provider in the Nordic countries – both by selling and distributing material from its own collections around the world – and by representing other image collections within the Nordic countries. By purchasing GV-Press, NordicPhotos has embarked on to the Norwegian market with quite a leverage, offering over 2,5 million images from almost 70 different collections, both from the Nordic countries and the rest of the world.

NordicPhotos was founded in the year 2000 and has established itself as one of the leading image collections in the Nordic countries - with its own archive from over 500 photographers and 115.000 digital images on offer online at www.nordicphotos.com

In addition to that, NordicPhotos distributes and sells images from other large photo agencies, such as Stockfood, Image Source, Minden and Superstock. All in all, NordicPhotos offers dozens of photo collections and millions of images to their clients.

NordicPhotos currently has 17 employees in its offices located in Reykjavík, Stockholm and now Oslo too. NordicPhotos also has 70 representatives that sell and distribute the RM collections and the newest addition, Simply North RF collection, throughout the world.
