PhotoShelter will be partnering with TinEye

As of October 7, 2009 PhotoShelter will be partnering with TinEye, the reverse image search engine created by Idée, to deliver new benefits to PhotoShelter members that help you monitor online image usage and help people using TinEye to find you.

TinEye is a reverse image search engine. You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions. TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks.

French and English photographers join forces against The Guardian

The protest against The Guardian's refusal to pay reproduction fees has reached France, as more than 4000 photographers have been asked to refuse work from the newspaper
Earlier this year, freelance and contract photographers received a letter from Chris Elliott, managing editor at Guardian News & Media, informing them that The Guardian and The Observer would cease paying reuse fees for commissioned images.

Google has accepted invitation to speak at Miami international conference

At the PACA Conference in Miami Beach, Google and imense will talk us through advances in search technology, the potential impact on image and video search, and on a user's search experience.

Search engines have traditionally been based on matching keywords typed into query boxes with words associated with images, video, and other online data. Semantic Search technology is smart enough to understand what sentences or combinations of words actually mean, returning more accurate and relevant search results.
