To meet the insatiable demand for video, motion picture and interactive content for the online world, Aurora Photos has launched a new company, Aurora Novus, to specifically address the needs of clients looking for storytelling at the next level.
Based in Los Angeles, California, Aurora Novus will handle all aspects of video, motion picture and interactive content for Aurora Photos’ award-winning photographers, as well as working with businesses who are looking to grow their online presence and identity with powerful storytelling in the form of multimedia video and still content.
The formation of Aurora Novus marks the first time a genre photo stock agency has moved full-time into multimedia content for the Internet. Projects will range in scope from traditional documentary-style to experimentally-edgy films. Underlying each production will be the visual integrity already proven to be an Aurora hallmark.
“Embracing the major shift already underway for online storytelling seems clear,” claims Jose Azel, President of Aurora Photos, “Providing high-quality still and video content for the online community becomes a linear extension of what we do as a top tier visual provider.”
Aurora Novus will be led by Jose Azel, Corey Rich and Ian Shive. The partners believe that Aurora Photos’ exceptional image-makers and storytellers combined with a state-of-the-art video production office, the new company will establish itself at the forefront of multimedia content creation for the Web and continue to break new ground on this dynamic part of the industry.
The new venture for Aurora Photos also marks the addition of a new partner, Ian Shive, who will be leading the West Coast operations. Shive brings over a decade of motion picture industry experience including work on such films as the Spider-Man franchise, Pursuit of Happyness and over 60 other major motion pictures.
New media is not new to Aurora. Early in its evolution the company produced Internet and new media projects for clients such as Time Magazine, Apple Computers, Inc. and MSNBC.
